Phoenix’s leading 50-year-old premier commercial printing press, Courier Graphics Corporation, was in need of an urgent process cooling solution for its state-of-the-art, 80,000-square-foot facility. TEAL partnered with Courier to provide a managed chilled water central plant solution, with proprietary Beacon virtual supervision and monitoring, eliminating downtime and delivering absolute peace of mind for the life of the system.
PROJECT CHALLENGES
The team at Courier Graphics was specifically evaluatingpotential systems providers based on four key attributes:
- UPTIME. TEAL’s iPlant chiller solution with Beacon monitoring technology eliminates the uncertainty in HVAC systems, providing 100% system uptime. With 24/7 virtual proactive supervision, TEAL will now be able to schedule preventative maintenance before the system ever goes down.
- EFFICIENCY. Commercial printing requires precise temperature and humidity setpoints in designated zones and at different intervals of the printing process. TEAL worked with Courier’s facility team to increase operating efficiency and utilize an existing chiller to implement automatic redundancy.
- LONGEVITY. The new 80-ton Carrier chiller will not only perform in 120+ degree outdoor temperatures, it will also endure for years to come with the help of TEAL’s virtual supervision. Our Beacon technology will monitor 50 data points, every four seconds, making sure this system is here for the long-haul.
- BUDGET. Because TEAL provides central plant management as a service, Courier Graphics can now budget a fixed annual cost for its chiller operating expenses, effectively eliminating surprise repair bills over the life of the chiller.
PROJECT SUMMARY
Courier Graphics’ newly installed 80-ton air-cooled chiller has increased the facility’s energy efficiency and is specifically designed to work in extreme outdoor conditions. TEAL is looking forward to working with our new friends at Courier in the future while continuing to monitor and assist in optimizing their chiller system for maximum performance.
“We found TEAL on Google while we were evaluating different chiller solutions/options. No one else had chillers in stock and ready to deploy except TEAL. They responded quickly, and we decided to take a chance working with them – and honestly, I’m glad we did.”
