TEAL is established as a company by Garey and Greg Willbanks, previously of Willbanks Inc. boiler management systems, in order to develop the first unlimited hot water solution, the TEAL System.
Our History
While we pride ourselves on innovation, groundbreaking solutions that redefine the future are not possible without a tradition of success and a history upon which to reflect. Garey and Greg Willbanks embody this value, drawing from their own history and tradition to establish TEAL in 2004. The memories created and lessons learned growing up in Houston, Texas are integral in the colors and symbolism behind the TEAL name. While “TEAL” was the name of the Willbanks brothers’ beloved uncle, it’s also in the name of our guiding imagery, the green-winged teal duck of their childhood home.
While the launch of TEAL in 2004 brought about a shift in how owners thought about central plants, the foundation and fundamentals that made the platform successful went back nearly 30 years. As teenagers in the late 1970s, Garey and Greg worked for their parent’s growing boiler company – Willbanks & Associates – where they were immersed in all aspects of the business, experience that later made them the go-to boiler experts in Texas.
With a gained appreciation and thorough understanding of traditional boiler systems, they took over the family business in 1987. Their ability to identify possibilities and their courage to pursue innovation led Garey and Greg to establish TEAL in 2004, and guide the company towards a sustainable future.

2004: TEAL is established as a company by Garey and Greg Willbanks, previously of Willbanks Inc. boiler management systems, in order to develop the first unlimited hot water solution, the TEAL System.
2006
2006: TEAL designs and builds its first TEAL System, a skid-mounted tank-type monitored central boiler system, providing unlimited and instant domestic hot water.
2007
2007: The first TEAL System is deployed in Arkansas, expanding TEAL’s geographic markets into 3 states.
2012
2012: TEAL is excited to open up its second office location in Austin, Texas.
2013
2013: The first TEAL System is deployed in Minnesota, expanding TEAL’s geographic markets into 4 states.
2013
2013: TEAL designs and builds the first TEAL Aquatherm system, providing domestic hot water and hydronic heat to multi-family developments.

2013: TEAL deploys its first TEAL Aquatherm system, providing hydronic heat and domestic hot water, in The Miles Uptown multi-family development located in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

2014: The first TEAL System is deployed in Oklahoma, expanding TEAL’s geographic markets into 5 states.
2015
2015: A TEAL System is deployed in its first hotel development, the luxurious Italian-style Hotel Granduca, located in Houston, Texas.

2017: TEAL is thrilled to design and implement its first tankless TEAL System, providing multi-family developments with unlimited and instantaneous domestic hot water.
