About TEAL

TEAL is unique in that we own the plant — and its problems. Our customers simply pay a low monthly fee. We handle maintenance and optimization for the long haul. And we deliver unprecedented operational uptime across hundreds of systems nationwide — 99.9997%, to be exact.

Our customers are real-estate developers, building owners, and property managers who want to replace CapEx on their balance sheet with a fixed-cost, hassle-free solution that helps differentiate their building and brand. Our customers get better results at a lower cost. They get modern, top-of-the-line heating and cooling that pays for itself from day one. They raise less money, reduce management risk, improve operating margins, and get to payback faster with TEAL.

Our model works because software-defined central plants use less energy and deliver better performance. Our platform meets fluctuating demand in real time by type, zone, and season. We use machine learning and AI to understand and anticipate usage patterns, routing capacity to where it is needed, when it’s needed — with near-zero waste.

Innovating Together, The TEAL Way

Nick Bobrowski

Chief Financial Officer

Nick has served as TEAL’s CFO since 2023, bringing over 15 years of corporate and investment banking experience alongside five years of military leadership. Before joining TEAL, he held multiple CFO and leadership roles across both public and private companies.

Nick began his civilian career at Citigroup after earning an MBA from MIT’s Sloan School of Management. A graduate of the United States Military Academy, he achieved the rank of Captain in the U.S. Army and completed a combat tour in Afghanistan.

Benjamin Bain, P.E.

Chief Operating Officer

Benjamin helps ensure the technical excellence of TEAL’s solutions with expert evaluation and quality control. As Chief Operating Officer, he reinforces the team’s technical agility by continually evolving TEAL’s strategy for mechanical system development and application.

Benjamin’s fascination with technical design began his junior year of high school, when he attended a career presentation by an aeronautical engineer who worked on the SR-71 Blackbird. Learning about spy plane and fighter jet design ignited his curiosity about the creative, yet practical, ways that science and technology combine. His drive to blend the two fields to solve problems led him to Mechanical Engineering at Louisiana Tech University. After completing college, a chance encounter with a Principal at Schmidt & Stacy Consulting Engineers, Inc. led him to become an Engineering Consultant in 1996.

Over the next 11 years, he cultivated expertise in mechanical system design, equipment application, and team development for commercial, healthcare, and multifamily projects before transitioning to a Sales Engineer role at Texas AirSystems. A collaborative strategist, his engineering and design expertise generated proactive solutions so that his team could navigate potential issues before they became major challenges. Benjamin’s ability to balance team members’ strengths with project goals and to establish effective design implementations for a variety of properties resulted in his promotion to Texas AirSystems’ Dallas Sales Leader. In 2020, his industry knowledge and technical expertise led him to TEAL, where he coordinates the team to combine the art and science of mechanical system engineering to remove obstacles on clients’ paths to successful developments.

Outside of his mechanical equipment design work, Benjamin is a member of both ASHRAE and 7×24 Exchange International; he’s acted as President of ASHRAE’s Dallas Chapter since 2010 and President of 7×24 Exchange’s Lone Star Chapter since 2020. He also volunteers with the children’s ministry at St. Andrew Methodist Church and enjoys hunting, fishing, cooking, and spending time with his family in his spare time.

Dale Holloway

Vice President Operations

Guided by his curiosity about system operations and functioning, Dale became a Master Plumber at age 18. He went on to own and operate a successful Premier Plumbing company for 22 years, providing boiler startups and warranties for several boiler manufacturers in the Houston area. Before he joined TEAL in September 2011, Dale had worked in the plumbing and boiler industry for three decades, and he continues to hold his Master Plumbing License.

A natural problem-solver and team leader, Dale transitioned from TEAL’s Operations Manager to Vice President of Operations in 2014. His exceptional design of both boiler system control logic and custom control modules allow him to navigate system issues and apply unique solutions to help ensure that clients receive superior service from their hot water systems. Dale’s 30 years of industry experience and his dedication to his team have helped establish TEAL as an effective solution provider for owners and managers of multi-family developments.

In his free time, Dale enjoys spending time at the lake with his family, classic cars, and playing guitar.

Bob Watson

Vice President of Mechanical Systems

Bob leads the mechanical systems team at TEAL with over 40 years of commercial HVAC experience across North America. He believes that extending equipment life and operational efficiency begins with engineering and design collaboration – and no one collaborates across teams, projects, or zip codes better than Bob.

As a facility problem solver, Bob was assigned to work directly with Jacobs Group retail property owners early in his career. Since that time, he has worked across multiple industries with a myriad of titles and a focus on facility operations. His proven track record in the mechanical and industrial engineering sectors, as well as his commitment to continuous improvement and operational efficiency, are what makes Bob the ideal team leader here at TEAL.

Bob has been married to his high school sweetheart Sheila for over 44 years. Together they enjoy cruising in their highly modified ‘80 Monte Carlo (as the original owners) and spend every minute they can with their two children and four grandsons. Oh, and let’s not forget about the time spent with their motorcycles, muscle cars, fishing, and boating . . . they definitely like to stay active!

Derek Michel

Vice President of Mechanical Construction

After almost two decades in the consulting engineering industry, Derek joined TEAL in 2022 and now leads the mechanical construction team across all offices. Through his leadership, Derek has cultivated the team responsible for taking chilled water projects from design and engineering, through construction, and into successful startups. No one is more “at home” dreaming up and bringing to life an innovative and highly efficient central plant, than our man, Derek.

Throughout his career, Derek has worn many hats and served across multiple roles from a young draftsman and designer . . . to a project manager and later, practice director. Derek’s journey has spanned a multitude of industries and vertical markets and has showcased the launch of successful engineering projects coast to coast, from Hawaii to Puerto Rico. He is also a proud U.S. Marine Corps veteran with multiple deployments overseas and a commendation for Superior Performance of Duty.

In the summer, you’ll most likely find Derek solving problems on a blazing-hot building roof or collaborating deep in the depths of a facility’s central utility plant. But come fall, you might find his out-of-office on while he enjoys the outdoors with the most important people in his life . . . his wife and children.
